v5.0
Never let the soul of animation give in to the whims of modernity.
Orion Finale kills app-hopping. Drawing, painting, rigging, animation, effects, compositing, 3D and the final render all live under one roof, so the shot you start in Orion is the shot you finish in Orion.
No subscription stack, no AI, no nonsense · lifetime updates · source on request.
What is it? the short version
TVA Orion Finale is a desktop animation studio meant to act like a Swiss army knife of animation. Draw and paint your frames, rig characters with the skeleton tool, animate on a real timeline, wire up effects in a node graph, pull in 3D through the bundled FD3D engine and render the final thing. No 2-hour onboarding, no account to register, no waiting on a cloud render.
It's extensively tested, but if you find a bug, write to me. I'll patch it personally and send you a new version for free ASAP.
Draw & paint
Bitmap or vector animation, plus a built-in raster editor for touch-ups.
Layer & stack
Add, remove, duplicate, reorder. Visibility, lock, opacity.
Effects & compositing
A drag-and-drop node graph: create nodes, wire up ports, tweak per-node controls and watch it rebuild live. Your comp lives right next to your animation.
Bring in 3D
Open the bundled FD3D editor and engine from inside Orion, drop 3D scenes and render sequences onto your timeline, and playback stays in sync on its own.
Frame the shot
Put a camera on your 2D canvas for pans, zooms and 2.5D moves.
Bring it in, render it out
In: images, layered files, vectors, audio, 3D scenes. Out: animation, image sequences, single frames. FFmpeg's already on board.

Features from first sketch to final render
Draw, paint & edit
- Authoring tools: select, draw, line, curve, rectangle, ellipse, text, bucket fill, gradient fill, eraser, skeleton.
- Quick controls: stroke width, color, selection mode switching, camera-add right from the tools panel.
- Object editing: align & distribute, arrange (z-order), transforms (flip, rotate).
Build it up in layers
- Add, remove, duplicate, reorder layers.
- Per-layer visibility, lock, opacity, selection.
- Layer state preserved across save/load.
Import, export & final render
- File menu: new, open, save, save-as, autosave settings, canvas size.
- Import: image, layered image, vector, audio, 3D scene reference, 3D render sequence, camera track.
- Export: animation, image sequence, single frame, SVG.
- Built-in windows: a raster editor for paint touch-ups and a final-render window, so neither needs its own app.
Effects & compositing (node-based)
- Dedicated Effect Graph Panel with drag-and-drop node creation, so you comp right where you animate.
- Link-dragging between ports, per-node controls, graph refresh / rebuild.
- Effects menu in the main window with direct evaluator access.
3D, without the round trip
- Open the bundled FD3D editor and the FD3D engine straight from Orion.
- Import 3D scenes and render sequences directly into your timeline.
- Playback & frame updates stay in sync with FD3D automatically.
Cameras, rigging & deformation
- Camera add / remove actions live under the Object menu.
- Skeleton tool for character rigs and deformation (beta). Rig where you animate, no separate rigging app.
Plugin system & bundled tools
- Plugin system for effects.
- Ships with FFmpeg and ImageMagick, so encoding and image conversion stay in-house too.
